Rev. Kester received her M. Div from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. She also has a B.S. and M. Ed in education from Slippery Rock University. She brings thirty years of experience in public education and Christian education to Derry. Her love is small churches and the family like qualities that small congregations can maintain.

She is married to Hal, a teacher in Greater Latrobe School District, and has three grown children and a son-in-law. Her oldest two children, Mary Beth and Tim live in Tempe where they both teach school and her son-in-law is a concert violinist. Their youngest son, Bill is a senior at Westminster College in Computer Science. They have a dog, two cats and four ferrets.
